- Apply for humanitarian and compassionate assistance for one of the three immigration classes (economic class, family class, or refugee program) by completing the appropriate form and justifying your request.

An important point to remember is that each letter submitted must be handwritten, date stamped, signed by the author, and describe the nature of the relationship with the applicant.
If the applicant is a parent, the child can write a letter explaining why the applicant wants to stay in Canada, or the applicant can submit documentation about continuing the child's education in Canada (school activities, certificates of attendance, letters from friends and teachers, etc.)
